I go there about once a month and am smitten with their Friday-only salmon with fresh dill wonder. That and chocolate/strawberry one with whipped cream. It is not diet friendly at all, but the flavors are fresh and tasty. I do get filled up, but I am a pretty light eater. It is a very small place, so if you want to guarantee yourself a table, go at an off-hour. I've only had to pass on going once, which was Sunday at 10am--not surprising. There was a line at the door and all outside tables were full.

My mother and I went here for dessert one night while we were out on Penn Ave, she ordered the crepe suzette and I had the Nutella and banana. The place seemed nice we sat out doors on some steps because there were no available seats by the time we got our order. Unfortunately we are french my (mother was born in Paris) and I have been to may places in my travels and have tried crepes from all over. I could tell that the batter is a pre-made purchased mix with water added. The crepe was chewy almost inedible (hence how I know it is a pre-made mix). The woman behind the counter didn't seem pleasant at all. The crepe suzette wasn't a traditional crepe suzette, it had caramel sauce on it. The traditional is a caramelized butter and sugar sauce with orange zest and Grand Marnier (they got the Grand Marnier right at least). Honestly this was the worse crepe I had partially eaten and do not plan on going back there. I had chewed for so long I couldn't finish my crepe and ended up throwing the rest out, it was nothing close to a crepe. The prices are too expensive, the quality is too low. My mother had 2 bites and was done because she though it was disgusting. honestly feel the name should be changed from "A Taste of Crepe" to "A Taste of Crap". A small mom and pop business should at lease take the time to make their own crepe batter and not buy pre-made. As I said the quality doesn't justify the price. I live in the area and will not go there again, which is unfortunate because I love crepes. I think a real french creperie should come to the neighborhood so that the people of West Reading can enjoy the oral ecstasy that comes from a traditional home made crepe and not some pre-packaged garbage that some one passes off as a crepe. I expected a lot more for my $11.50.

Crepes done right , confidence is displayed throughout the menu. The crepes are made at the counter in front of you. I played it safe and was rewarded , Nuttella and bananas with powered sugar. We arrived at 8:30 am and were shocked to learn they open at 9 am daily , a bit late If you ask me . Tight quarters good service and fast . The price and portions were great and you can't beat the location if you want to take a walk on Penn . If you want crepes and don't have time to drive to a place that makes the batter from scratch they will hit the spot . Don't have super high expectations and you are sure to be won over.

This is definitely the Berks County version of crepes. Just about every savory crepe has bottled ranch dressing on it and thick slices of lunchmeat. Crepes are supposed to have delicate flavors that don't overwhelm. Looks like the people running this place tried to take wraps that they like and make them into crepes and it isn't translating. Go back to the drawing board, do some research on good crepes and I'll come back.

I'd consider myself a food snob and although these aren't the best, most authentic crepes I've ever had, they are pretty freakin delicious!! I've been there a few times for breakfast. I called ahead to make sure they had room for me and they saved me a table. My friends and I split 3 crepes.. the Mediterranean, "bacon and eggs", and another one that had bacon, ham, onions and eggs and came with a side of apple butter. My absolute favorite was the fresh fruit one. I'd go back for more!

This place is like being in a dream. I'm not a HUGE crepe person, it's just never been my thing (unless I'm at Disneyland getting them from a cart) but I would eat here every single day if I could. I went with a friend and we had decided to go somewhere new so we chose this place. The menu was extensive and they separate it between savory and sweet so you know what's up. They had hot apple cider, which is my jam and it was delicious. The workers were nice and didn't seem to mind that I started choking on said hot apple cider and basically caused a scene and spit it on the table because I couldn't breathe. I got their special called Thanksgiving, which is deli sliced turkey, mozzarella cheese, cranberry sauce and stuffing in a crepe covered in gravy. Oh my god. If you go there and they offer you this gem, you have to take it. It was probably the most incredible thing I've ever eaten, I swear I have dreams about this bad boy. We got some dessert crepe, the name escapes me but it had lots of fruit and chocolate chips and ice cream, so how could it be wrong? I think it was a little expensive but honestly, I was so drunk on amazingness from that damn Thanksgiving crepe that I can't even remember. I'm looking forward to trip number 2 to this place.

Stopped here after the W. Reading farmers market and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the spinach and feta, broasted red pepper, and the breakfast spinach. They were light and delicious. They didn't have any obnoxious heavy sauces. Granted we all ordered vegetarian options. The spinach and feta savory crepe was amazing. Light and airy, it had a strawberry and walnut sauce that went beautifully with the spinach and feta. They also give you the option to substitute a buckwheat crepe for a healthier version. I thoroughly enjoyed the buckwheat however others in my party said it was dry. For dessert we ordered the apple pie and the strawberry nutella. The apple pie was made with a side of homemade ice cream. I'm not much of a dessert person so the strawberry nutella was way too sweet for me. But the apple pie was perfect. I enjoyed my meal here and would def. come back. There aren't too many places in Berks County that have good vegetarian options that are made with fresh, local, and healthy ingredients and this place is a different and delicious option.

Tiny place but love the bustling atmosphere. Ham and cheese crepe was delicious. Portions are large. My son had the strawberry and cream one. He couldn't finish it all, but loved it. I tasted it and can agree it was yummy. Coffee and service was good...we were in and out fairly quickly. What more can you ask for? In a perfect world, I wish it were bigger and in a better location with its own parking.

Takes WAY too long to get a simple meal (35min and it wasn't crowded). Ate there with two others and our crepes came out 10 min apart. Knives don't cut their crepes - too dull. Very annoying. Food was just ok and not worth the wait.

This will be my second review for this place. The creeps were so dry that they were crunchy, definitely huge disappointment. The savory creeps lack a lot of seasoning.

Great place! Excellent service! My 6 yr old son is their #1 fan. Food is delicious and customer service is second to none! I can't wait till summer. Keep up the good work guys. I'll be back :)

Great place! Entire staff is extremely friendly. Food came out very quickly and was delicious. Food comes in good portions. Price was extremely reasonable. Can't say a bad thing about it. Overall very pleasant experience. Definitely will be a frequent customer.

Under new management! First it is a small cafe but the customer service was outstanding an I felt like family. I was genuinely welcomed and appreciated. The pumpkin pie crepe was delicious and complimented by a good cup of coffee. I can't wait to return and try some of the savory options.

Just moved to Wyomissing a week ago and this was our first breakfast stop. Despite it being a busy Sunday morning, we were able to get a seat right away. I ordered a fresh fruit crepe which included blueberries, strawberries and bananas. I am usually afraid of sweet breakfast dishes being too dessert like, so I usually go for savory, but I gave it a shot. And boy am I glad I did. Perfect weekend breakfast treat. It was just naturally sweet enough from the fruit without any added overly sugary syrups or creams. I could seriously eat that everyday for breakfast. My boyfriend had a savory crepe, one with artichoke and it was also delicious. I think I'll have a hard time choosing which one to try next since they all sounded good. Waitress was friendly and attentive and very prompt with our coffee, food and check, when we were ready. Can't wait for our next weekend trip!

Located on Penn Ave this awesome little spot stays busy. I ordered the Bananas Foster Crepe and though the bananas Foster was prepared differently than the traditional New Orleans way it was very tasty and fresh. This space is small with creative seating in the breezeway but it ads to the charm and as long as I'm outdoor everything taste great! I plan to work my way through the menu hope u will too.

The fact that everything is made to order with fresh ingredients, isn't expensive and is absolutely delicious....is beyond awesome! I thought the Strawberry, Banana, Cream Cheese Crepes with powdered sugar and Caramel would be over whelming and too rich. It wasn't. It was very light, flavorful and fresh tasting. Yeah it took a little while to get our food. But again...it's made to order. It's not sitting there being heated by a headlamp or thrown together from frozen ingredients. Fresh takes time. And it's well worth the wait. I'll definitely be going back!!

I dont live in the state and my niece introduced me to this great little gem! Truly amazing food and service! Best vanilla latte! My last day in PA and im here for a second day in a row for this deliciouness! Wish i had one back in Texas!

Came in yesterday for the first time. I had the buffalo chicken crepe. Was very good. Service was fast. We came in right at 12, just in time. Soon after, every table was filled. Will be back to try a sweet crepe next time :)
(5)Vicki G.
The food is great, the service is slow. They make each crepe individually, so it just takes time. But you should know: don't go if you are in a hurry. Once you finally get your food, you will enjoy it. Fresh ingredients. Yummy flavor combinations. I especially like that they have sweet and savory crepes. Lunch and dessert! You can also sit outside and watch West Reading, which is nice.

If you are looking for a great crepe in a very low key setting, Taste of Crepes is it! Located on Penn Avenue, right in the heart of the shops, this creperie creates sweet and savory alike. There are many crepe options to choose from, though I always choose the Nutella option with banana or strawberries. All of the menu items are very enticing and sound absolutely delicious, you cannot go wrong with whatever you choose here. However, if you are looking for any other food item other than crepes, you are out of luck. At Taste of Crepes they only serve CREPES. I heard a gentlemen behind me while dining complain about the menu selection and not being able to order any other type of food, but excuse me sir, did you read the sign before you came in?? The waitress was very kind and obliged his order by serving him two eggs over easy with ham (not a menu option). The staff is always very kind, and the atmosphere is always calm. Do beware, there are not many tables, maybe ten 2-tops, but I have never had to wait for a table here.

Seems like half of West Reading is shut down on Sundays, and that's certainly understandable. Most small business owners hate money. Luckily, this place was open, and did not disappoint. Very nice variety from savory to sweet, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Clean windows allowed for an accurate view of nearby shrubbery and walkways.

Went for a late breakfast in Sunday. Cute place. They were somewhat busy but not terribly. We were a party of 6 and we were able to get two tables right away. The order took way too long to get to us. Their reason was that they had To-Go orders that they needed to fill. When the food finally came we were all disappointed. We had the Breakfast Pepper Red, couple of Nutella ones, Ham and Egg and some kind of Maple one. None were great tasting. They we're bad but just plain vanilla. The 2 Nutella ones we got for my kids had chocolate and whipped cream and they still didn't eat them. That should tell you something. The waitress was nice.

I came today with my sister. We came for lunch. It was so fresh and delicious. We had the feta spinach raspberry walnut crepe and the Cali turkey crepe. Cream of mushroom soup which had a little spice to it. We then saw some great smoothies and had those. I would highly recommend this place to eat. They had crepes for all three meal times. It's very small place. But good things come in small packages.

Super Yummy Crepes! The variety is great. Savory to sweet to dessert. The crepes are huge and the price is reasonable. We've had the mushroom, artichoke and s'mores crepes. They were all delicious!

This place is great and the family that owns it is so nice! I always come here with my family when I'm in town. My favorite crepe is the banana foster crepe. So delicious and I highly recommend it! My ONLY complaint is that the space is really small and cramped; however, I've only has to wait on one occasion and the wait was less than 15 minutes.

Love it here! In the mood for something sweet for breakfast? This is the place! They have sweet and savory breakfast crepes which are equally as good! They also run "special" crepes.
(5)Michael M.
This place is great. Our server Brianna was very good. She took great care of us even though she was working 8 or 9 tables at once. The owner stopped by our table to say hello and made us feel very welcome. The food was fresh and made to order. Very reasonably priced for breakfast or brunch. I highly recommend stoping here if your in the area I promise you won't regret it.

Love this place! It has that quaint cafe atmosphere without feeling too cramped, and everything I have ever ordered has been delicious. I always try to support the local businesses, and you can tell that this place deserves it. It's run by younger people, but don't let that fool you ;they can make perfect crepes. There are a lot of interesting combinations for sweet and savory options. Have dinner and dessert!

Some people leave the silliest negative scores. Catherine M said "There are only 5 tables, all are busy so I leave". There are 15 tables at the restaurant -_-. Dave A says the batter was chewy and just a pre-made mix with water. I knew the previous owner of ToC and have watched her prepare the crepes, and all the batter is carefully made with fresh ingredients(his assertions that it is pre-made mixed with water is just blatantly false). It's really soft, and is literally not chewy whatsoever. I can't understand why these people leave such ridiculous reviews, other than perhaps they work at a rival restaurant in the area or have some grudge against the business. The crepes are prepared with a ton of attention and are extremely tasty (the smoked salmon crepe is one of my favorite dishes anywhere, I've recommended it to my friends and family and it never once failed to impress). Whenever I would call in and pick up crepes during my lunch break, all my co-workers would order some too. They really are delicious, and between the breakfast, savory, and sweet menus there is something for everyone If you're looking for a good breakfast lunch or dessert place, you can't go wrong!

Great Experience! Our server was very sweet and attentive. The rest of the staff was welcoming and made us feel at home. I got a chocolate covered strawberry crepe that was to die for and my friend's savory artichoke crepe looked great too! I will definitely be back!

Really great place to go if you aren't a big eater! However, I am, and that's why they only get 4 stars. It was definitely delicious, and changed my mind from previously hating salty crepes. I got the nutella and banana crepes, but also got to try my brothers, which had ham, peppers and onions, and i was amazed at both! I will definitely go here again, I just wish crepes were more filling!

My friend and I meet in Reading as an in between spot. It was a lovely day, little chilly so we decided to sit outside and try this eatery. The waitress was young, friendly and attentive. We had the smoked salmon lunch crepe and it was light and flavorful and then the egg buckwheat breakfast feta crepe. The salmon was my favorite and the egg was my friends. These are NOT Amazing FRENCH Crepes. If that is what you expect, go to France, New York, Chicago. This is a nice place to come for breakfast, lunch. The interior is small and I don't know how crowded it gets, but for me, it was a lovely afternoon meal, and the outside tables were full, so I am not the only one who enjoyed it. I will try it again.

Went to their location in Kutztown for breakfast today. I had ham and cheese, wife and kids went sweet with strawberries. Everyone enjoyed their food as all plates were cleaned quickly. The price was right as we got out of there under $40 with tip. Absolutely a must if you find yourself in the Hinterlands!

Only 5 tables. All are busy so I leave. So one of the wait staff from there comes out and tells me they'll put out another table. When I walk back in, another staff members says 'You'll have to wait for a table'. Actually, no I don't.... and I won't be back.
